In the summer of 2020, national racial justice and police brutality protests captured the attention of the National Millennial & Gen Z Community (NMC). NMC members wanted to channel their energy into a constructive path forward and participate in the public safety conversation in a way that can lead to meaningful solutions.
Engage Public Safety partnered with NMC to develop a project to give young people an opportunity to engage in thought provoking, educational discussions that will inform their perspectives and help them generate ideas to share with law enforcement executives. This project gives young people a voice in the national public safety discussion and brings law enforcement to the table as the listening party, to hear from the next generation. |
A video podcast series
NMC members released a 10-episode video podcast series capturing interviews and conversations with experts representing differing perspectives on the current issues around policing and social justice -- from activists to researchers to law enforcement.
All episodes are available on Youtube and various podcast platforms. A social media campaign
NMC members also launched a coordinated social media campaign under the handle: @NextGen.Future.
