Police foundations are independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations led by business and community members committed to investing in the safety of their cities by providing supplemental grant funding to police departments.
Police foundations bring creative resources from the private sector to help improve policing and fund youth programs or police-community relations programming, upgrade equipment the city budget can't afford or fund important supplemental training for officers that the city's training budget can't afford. Police foundations are part of the solution in improving policing, and a great platform for the public to engage in public safety. There are currently about 300 police foundations across the country. |
